Kalaripayattu: Body Precision Series

Kalaripayattu is an ancient Indian martial art and is a complete system of body-orientedf therapy with an emphasis on the expansion and development of the senses; a paradigm commonly called 'when the body becomes all eyes'.
Kalari gives us a framework for understanding how we exist in the world and practical guidelines to harmonize ourselves with our ever changing inner and outer environments.
The practices are multidimensional, incorporating concepts of power and focus - allowing us to feel a closer connection to our ancestral animal and warrior lineages.
In this 4 week series you will experience all elements of a traditional practice which will be focused on grounding, step work and building your foundations - all central concepts in this style of martial arts.
You will move on to practice unique flowing movements within the warms ups, core strengthening and kick sequences as well as more complex postures/full body mudras, animal stances and flows, and evasive/defensive techniques. These can be practised as stand alone exercises or incorporated into existing movement routines or creating new rituals to energise and strengthen your body and mind.
The sessions are going to give you a different way to develop your personal practices and discipline.
